About Us

Kokanee Pet Apparel is a project between a father and daughter from the West Kootenays in BC, Canada. We have always had dogs as important companions to the family over the years, as very well-loved members of the household, so it was only natural that we work together combining each of our skills to create these coats.  Our two interests merged to create Kokanee Pet Apparel. After testing these coats for years with dogs in our own family, and with the help of friends and their dogs in testing and sizing, we thought that creating this product could fill the gap in options available to pet owners within Canada, with an ethical Canadian-made product.

Fit Models & Product Testing: Phoebe & Todd

Phoebe & Todd are both rescue pups who now enjoy the good life on a large acreage in the West Kootenays in BC. They enjoy running through wilderness, on trails, under logs and through brush, up and down hills, and even into creeks. They’ve taken our sample coats through all of these activities to ensure the best durability and safety of the product.
Phoebe is still a puppy at 1 year old and wears the Small, and Todd is 7 years old and wears the Medium from our size chart.

 Process & Studio:

All coats are sewn in our studio in British Columbia, Canada . We test fits on various dogs that are part of our family or friends’ families. Fabrics are sourced from a Canadian wholesaler located in Montreal. We are excited about keeping our production in Canada. Coats are all cut, sewn, finished, packaged, and shipped from the studio .
